Silver then realized then and there that this boy had low confidence it could've been from ragarok but it actually came from many people. He thought he was not good enough? That shouldn't happen to him. Even though they met just today silver just heard crona say nasty things that happened to him and he felt they were right?!
Silver wouldn't stand for that and he gripped the boy's shoulder gently but enough to make the boy look at him "Now you listen to me crona. Don't you dare say that in me face don't put yourself in a low position like that. Ya got the makings of greatness in ya and even though we just met I mean everyword I say. You are polite, kind, thoughtful and good hearted. That's what makes you so good. Ya gotta chart your own course and stick to it no matter the squalls! I'll bet when the time comes you show people like what ya showed me who you really are they'll be so impressed and amazed at such a young boy who's so kind to others even if they just met ya" He then looked at the boy and gave a firm nod then gently calmed his facial expressions and looked at crona

Indeed, Crona's dark blue eyes met Silver's gaze as his hand gripped his shoulder. Somehow, it felt just a bit odd to not have Maka being the one giving him advice for once. He welcomed it regardless. Hearing it from someone again did help to cheer him up just a bit. That same tiny smile returned to his face after a few moments. Crona felt he was beginning to like Silver. He wasn't as scary as Sid, the zombie teacher of the DWMA, and he seemed to have confidence in him. True, Crona did have friends like Maka and the others that had confidence in him as well... but after betraying them against his will, Crona doubted a lot of them trusted him as much.
"T-Thanks, Mr. Silver. I'm sorry... I was getting better about doubting myself, really. I guess everything that's happened just..." Crona found himself trailing off. He didn't know how to deal with everything that had happened. Finding out Medusa was still alive, finding out she wanted to kill him, his and Ragnarok's weakened states... it was too much to handle. Despite his best attempts to hide it, he could feel tears pricking at his eyes. "It's too much to deal with." Crona whimpered.

Silver held the boy gently and said softly "I know laddie. I know I'm really sorry ya have to deal with this but I swear to ye I won't let anybody hurt you. I'll make absolute sure that ya will be in safe arms and those arms are gonna be mine. No one will hurt ye I promise" He wanted to hug the boy but he didn't want to be awkward about this so he kept his arms on crona's shoulders and just simply sat next to the boy if crona hugged him silver would allow him. (OCC: *winkwink*/is giving you ideas )

No, no, no... don't do it, Crona. Don't cry. You're supposed to be stronger now. You can't just... you can't just...
Even his inner thoughts seemed defeated. He'd only ever let Maka hug him before, and it was in a situation similar to the current one. Crona didn't want to break down so easily. Not so soon. They'd only just met!
Maybe... maybe it's meant to be.
Maybe it was. Whatever the reason, Crona broke completely and embraced Silver. Tears flowed freely. "I-I'm s-sorry. T-Thank you. I-I a-appreciate..." he could barely get out the words between tears and little hiccups as he tried to calm himself. Crona had only lost himself in such a state in Maka's presence before. Maybe... the coincidence seemed to be pointing toward Silver being the next Maka in a sense. After all, she wasn't present. Crona needed protection. Someone to look up to. Someone to guide him.
Someone... someone like Silver.

Silver hugged crona and said nothing for the moment and allowed crona to cry. The boy needed this. He had too much weight on his shoulders and it needed to be taken away. Silver was the adult and crona was the kid crona needed somebody to have and silver would see to it. Even if they just met today it didn't matter silver would protect this boy. Silver patted crona and hugged him tighter "It's alright crona I'm here. It's alright. I'm here for you laddie"

Crona was just glad Ragnarok had gotten sick of the conversation. He didn't need his partner ruining the moment. He just let his protector embrace him, closing his eyes and desperately trying to calm down. The tears wouldn't stop, though. Crona did need this. He needed to let it out. Too much had been piled on too soon, and Crona had reached the breaking point. He didn't want to have to deal with any of it. Admittedly, Crona felt bad breaking in front of Silver so easily. Yet, it seemed necessary.
After several moments, just letting Silver hold on to him, Crona seemed to have calmed down somewhat. He'd heard what Silver had said, and felt reassured, but a part of him wanted to make absolutely sure he was going to be okay. "Y-You promise you won't l-let L-Lady Medusa kill me?" Crona asked, barely letting his voice go above a whisper.
From within Crona's body, Ragnarok was indeed still listening. He was groaning inwardly at how easily Crona had let himself shatter. It disgusted him. Crona, you really are a wimp. he thought.

Silver nodded and said determinded "Yes lad. I swear on me own life you're life won't be put at risk again" Silver cared for the boy alot now and he didn't care if the boy just met him or felt bad if he did this. Silver didn't care or mind at all he knew crona needed to let it out and he would let him release all his emotions out. Crona needed this and silver would give it to him. Silver looked at the boy and said "I never break a promise lad never"

And with that last reassuring thought, Crona felt relief washing over him. He felt safe again. Relatively safe, at least. He knew Medusa was still after him. He knew it was still dangerous. But there, just letting go of all the suffering he'd gone through in his protector's grasp, Crona felt at ease. At last, the pink-haired boy felt he was calming down fully. He didn't let go of Silver, though. Crona didn't want to lose this feeling of safety just yet.
"Thank you." Crona said at last. "I'm glad to have you as my protector, Mr. Silver." he continued. Much to his everlasting joy, Ragnarok didn't chime in. It seemed his partner was more interested in regaining lost strength than interrupting a moment.

Silver kept the boy in his grasp and said back to him softly "I'm glad to have you as my client. You're welcome lad. I will make sure that I keep my promise to you" Silver felt that determination and protective intincts swelling inside him and he intended to do what he said what he would do. It was what silver was: Crona's protector

For a long moment, Crona didn't respond. He took in what had been said, and was wondering about something. Silver had been a pirate, yet he seemed to be much softer that he had imagined. Had he... worked with kids before? It seemed likely. After all, how else would it be possible for Silver to know how to calm him? It could have been he was just a nice guy. Still, Crona wanted to know.
"Mr. Silver, have you ever worked with any other kids before? I... I'm just curious." he asked at last. True, that probably seemed to have come out of nowhere but Crona really wanted to know.

Silver slightly paused at that question not because it offended him but it was true. Silver then breathed and said "Yep I did I met a lad named Jim hawkins and he was around your age when I first met him. He was a good lad but he was far more rude when I met him. I worked him out hard and it made me realize how upset he was in his life. His situation is kinda like yours but also different if it makes sense"

"So... is that partly why you wanted to help me?" Crona asked. He had had a feeling there might have been a reason behind it, and it comforted him a little. At least he wasn't the first person Silver had helped. A bit reluctantly, Crona finally moved out of the embrace. Only because he felt better then, and didn't really need the extra comfort.
Crona thought it was a little amusing, actually. A big, strong pirate taking interest in kids. He allowed a soft laugh to escape him, but immediately spoke up again. "S-Sorry... it's just kind of amusing, if you think about it." he explained.
"Wimpy, stop apologizing." and Ragnarok apparently had taken an interest in the conversation again. He reappeared, rolling his eyes just a little and looking away from Silver and Crona. He would pretend he had no interest in what was going on. "You're just making yourself sound more pitiful." the demon sword commented bluntly.

Silver chuckled "It's fine lad. Hard to believe a pirate cares but I do care about kids and yes that's some of the reason why I wanted to help ya crona because kids shouldn't be hurt like this and I felt that you needed justice" When ragnarok came again silver just looked and said to the sword politely "Could you maybe stop calling crona wimpy. He's not actually it took some guts to admit his feelings"

"Hey, it's not my fault he's pitiful." Ragnarok replied stubbornly. "Believe me, this is normal for him. I should know, because I've had to put up with him since he was a little kid. He's the wimpiest wimp that ever did-" Ragnarok found himself cut off, but not by Silver. No, Crona had had enough of his partner's rambling and had resorted to bonking him on the head with his hand. Needless to say, Ragnarok was not pleased. "HEY!"
"That's enough, Ragnarok. Mr. Silver has a point. I... I am getting better about this. And I'm not that wimpy anymore." Crona said.
"You still whacked me on the head! I oughta-" Ragnarok began to retort, but stopped himself. Was it worth it to go all out right at that moment? ...No. Especially not with Silver present. It was obvious the two were going to be butting heads for quite a while, and Ragnarok wasn't interested in that moment. "Fine, I won't noogie you. But you're still a wimp." Ragnarok stated.
And with that, Crona let out an sigh. Leave it to Ragnarok to spoil the moment. "Y-You'll get used to him. Really." he said, once again trying to defend his partner even though he knew Ragnarok would still continue to insult him.

Silver nodded and smiled at crona in a way that meant 'Nice job' but he nodded and said "Yeah I'll get over it. So anyways lad I see that ragnarok is like attached to you literally. Doesn't he hurt you in some other ways? No reason just curious" Silver meant this as a real question but not to offend anyone or anything as such he just wanted to know
