(OOC: May 4th, open to everyone. This is a casual lunch thread, meaning no fighting. Primely for character development and probably some fun stuff. Oh, and yes, I lvoe the title to this thread, too. XD)
Miyuki seated herself down at a lonely table, not far off from the mess hall. It was a nice day outside, so she decided to sit out there-- she'd been pretty deprived of sunlight lately. She placed the tray carrying her lunch on the table carefully, making sure nothing fell off. Her meal consisted of purely churros and coffee, since she really didn't want much else. She took a soft bite from one fo the churros and took a small sip of her coffee, glancing around the seating area to watch the other assassins gathered there. Hm. It's kind of lonely in here. Strange, considering that this hour of day would usually be a major lunch rush for resteraunts.

For once, Soul was willing to admit he wouldn't have minded a bit of company for lunch. Usually he kept to himself at lunch time, but today... well, he felt lonely. So, there he was making his way toward the table Miyuki had seated herself at. She, at least, was a familiar face. He walked slowly so as to avoid making anything fall from his tray, but soon made his way to the table. "Hey. Mind if I sit here with you?" he asked. She really was one of the only assassins he considered a friend thus far. It made sense that he'd choose to want to sit with her.

Miyuki put down her foam cup of coffee and flicked her wrist casually as she said, "Nah, 'course not. You're nto the kind of guy I see mooching of of other peoples' stuff, so we should be game." Really, Soul is one of the few actually sane people in this place. he doesn't ask me stupid trivial things or mindlessly agree with everything everyone else says, unlike certain people I know. She picked up a bit of a churro and mindlessly twirled it in her hand, letting the sugar shower down onto the tray. "Anything interesting happening?"

Soul set his tray down on the table at last, and settled himself after a moment. His lunch wasn't anything special, just a chicken sandwich, some tater tots, and a bottle of water. "Not much interesting going on with me at the moment. It really doesn't seem like there's all that much going on today, anyway. Just going to be doing some training a little later this afternoon." Soul replied with a shrug before starting on his tots. "You'd think there would be more going on. I mean, we're assassins. When is something actually going to happen?" he asked.

"Mmph." Miyuki grunted, unimpressed, as she took another bite of the churro. "Well, that's just friggen' dandy. What a dumb way to spend our time. I came here to hurt someone, not play secret agents with those lowbrows over at the agent HQ." She shrugged. "Something exciting will probably happen in time. That's if you want to look at it in an optimistic sense, of course."

Lowbrow? Is that what they are? Soul had to wonder. He didn't even know what kinds of people were in the other agency, but it wasn't something he had considered before. He had to nod a little as Miyuki spoke, though. She had a point. Something was bound to happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of when. "I hope you're right. It's getting boring doing the same thing all the time." Soul commented. What had he been reduced to? Listening to Medusa, training for a while, and on occasion talking with the few allies he had made up until that point. It was becoming utterly dull.
Not that he wasn't enjoying just talking with Miyuki, but he had to wonder where the other assassins were at that moment. Typical. They're probably off doing something else. he thought. "Where do you think everyone else is right now? It seems... I don't know. It just seems too quiet for lunch time, you know?" Soul asked, finally voicing his thoughts. Not that he entirely minded it just being the two of them, but he'd come for company. While he wasn't entirely lonely anymore, the presence of a few other assassins wouldn't have hurt.

As if on cue at Soul's mentioning of the lack of assassins, Megamind burst in through the doors, looking positively distraught and overwhelmed. He had spent so much time trying to work out the kinks in yet another weapon that he'd been assigned to create, and everything he'd been trying had failed hopelessly. He hadn't slept or eaten in his desperate race to find what was going wrong, to no avail so far. And Spicer certainly hadn't helped matters. Miyuki pointed at him with her churro with a little grin. "Well, now that he's here, things will definitely get more interesting." "Oh shut up you," Megamind snapped as he made his way in. "I'm in no mood for your snarky commentary today." He sat down heavily with a huge sigh, much to Miyuki's surprise. She knew that the blue man had a tendency to overreact and be over-dramatic, but he seemed genuinely on edge. "Woah, clam down, Beavis. What's the issue here?" "Ugh..." Megamind slammed his head down on the table. "Luck has not been on my side. I find a malfunction in a new weapon, and of course I have to fix it. I've tried and tried and tried for hours on end... but I've found nothing, absolutely nothing. I'm so discombobulated that I doubt I'd even be able to shoot the thing straight to test it." "So... what are you down here for...?" "I'm absolutely famished. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday... morning." This was punctuated promptly by his stomach rumbling. "And of course I've been banned from the food here from trying to change a recipe to my liking and giving everyone food poisoning."
(OOC: Holy crap, this came out MUCH longer than expected. Sorry 'bout that. XDDDD)

"Well, you might as well join us then. We seem to be the only ones around right now." Soul observed. He didn't know Megamind all that well, but it seemed like he was having quite a bad day. He also didn't really have much to offer in the department of all things scientific, but Soul was willing to suggest things. Granted, his suggestions probably wouldn't be all that great but he didn't care. "Did you try taking the weapon apart and putting it back together again?" Soul asked. He didn't know why, but that seemed like it would have been a good idea.

"Of course I did-- several times. If I have to start over from scratch, I think I'll scream," Megamind grumbled, resting his head on his palm. "And lemme guess-- Spicer tried 'helping'," Miyuki chuckled. "Oh god. And how. I know that he's not really a bad kid, but... UGH."

Taylor burst into the lunchroom rather unexpectedly; Bob followed in soon after, turning into a blur of pink and white as he dashed towards the fruit. Taylor, meanwhile, only took up an apple, and strolled over to the others, with a grin on her face as she waited for Bob, who returned soon after with about 8 apples in his mouth.
"You are the stupidest unicorn I have ever seen." Taylor remarked. Bob only stuck out his tongue at her, as he continued to munch his apples. She then turned to the others. "So what's this I hear about the Spicer kid?" she asked.

Looking up as Taylor and Bob approached, Soul briefly motioned to Megamind. "Apparently he tried to help Megamind with a new weapon. From what he's told us, the results weren't exactly that great." Soul explained. He was a bit surprised to see Taylor and Bob present. He'd seen glimpses of them around before, but never had the chance to really talk to either of them. This would prove to be interesting.

Ursula looked up from her lunch for a moment. She would have returned with a snarky comment, but she had promised to be nicer to Jack...but only when Taylor was around, or if her brother was around. "That bad huh?" she asked. She glanced down at the card game she was playing, solitaire. It wasn't that fun but it was pretty good

"Huh." Taylor said, as she walked a little closer to Soul. "So, who are you? I haven't seen you around before. The unicorn might've, but I seriously doubt it." she said.
"Hey, now don't y'all go and insult me!" Bob said, swallowing the last of his apples. Taylor rolled her eyes. "Exactly what I meant."

"Name's Soul. I've been around, though I guess we really haven't had a chance to speak until now." Soul explained. That, and there was the fact that he had been kept rather busy in the passing days. Of course, he didn't think he needed to mention that. The fact that he was only just now meeting Taylor and Bob should have been evidence enough to the fact that he'd had no time for meeting a lot of new people.
He spared a quick, confused glance in Bob's direction though. A unicorn assassin? The idea seemed rather odd to him. But, who was he to judge? Still, it wasn't something he could just brush off like it was normal. Yes, he did come from a place where witches weren't out of the ordinary and people like himself could be living weapons... unicorns were just a bit too out of the ordinary. "Just out of curiosity, how did the... er... unicorn get to be an assassin?" Soul asked.

"Cool. The name's Taylor, and this is Bob." Taylor said, patting Bob's shoulder. She raised an eyebrow at the question, but stepped back to let Bob tell his story. "Kay y'all. I was born in a far-off land, to two very different parents y'all. But that isn't important. What is important is that somehow, I was sucked up into a different universe, called SuperJail. There, I didn't know what to do, so some little guy named Jared brought me up to his boss, the Warden. And there, the Warden asked me if I wanted a job. So, I said yes, and he told me that I was allowed to cull any prisoner I wanted. And there, I developed a love of killin'!" Bob said, with a bounce.
"And that's where I came in. Bob and I weren't on the best of terms when we first met, but this Warden guy offered me a deal: he'd lift my imprisonment if the unicorn and I worked under him as assassins. We received top training, and from there, we came here. And that's our story in a nutshell." Taylor said, completely bypassing as to how she ended up in the jail.
