(OCC: I suppose this is on may 30th. It's non cannon and this is for all of the next gen children. So the parents in this thread won't really be RPed in this one that'll happen at a different thread once it happens lol. So this is for all your kiddies!)
Mataka just sat next to kenai and pongo and perdita wrestled and pongo was heard shouting "C'mon perdy! Be fair!" Kenai sighed sadly "I wanna go home why did mom and dad have to go to this stupid agent meeting?" Mataka hugged her brother and replied "Because that's what they need to do it's a adult thing" Kenai then commented to the other child nearest to them "What do YOU think of all this?"

(OOC: Mind if I stick Akane in here?)
"I think," replied Akane in a flat voice, "that you are all being idiots and need to stop worrying." She'd been told by her mother and father to puppysit these crossbreed little bear/dog pup/cub things. And so, here she was. Watching them. Without much interest. She didn't like dogs. Even if these were half-bears, whcih made them a bit more tolerable since they could eat people once they grew up. "Your mom and dad are gonna be back here before you know it, so just... chill."

A bit further away from the small group, Ken sat with a good sized book and kept his gaze down on the pages. It was when Akane spoke that he decided to look up. His dark blue gaze carefully looked over the pups and girl before him, but Ken remained uncertain of whether he should approach them or not. They looked friendly enough... then again, Akane sounded rather blunt. Did it deter Ken all that much? ...Only a little. Ragnarok had been getting on his case about needing to make more friends, even if his father and mother thought that he was doing okay without all that many. ...Then again, his mother did express some concern that he was being a little too introverted. Perhaps today was the day that Ken ought to try and start a conversation for once.
Gently placing a bookmark in his book and closing it after just a moment, Ken decided it was time to approach the half dog-bear creatures and the girl. Would this end well? He wasn't sure. There was really only one way to find out. Tucking his book securely under his arm, Ken at last approached the group. "Um... hey. What's going on?" Ken asked them. Of course, he kept his tone soft. It was just his way of speaking.

Ariel made her way through the area, pratically sailing through the grass. Her blue eyes filled with happiness. There wasn't anything that could get her down like her mom she was carefree, a bit too carefree but that didn't matter to her. not at all

Not far behind Ariel was Miguel holding some cards and sitting on a chair. Confused he walked over to ken along with akane and the pup bear cubs and said "Hey there so what's up?" = Perdita and pongo tired sat down with mataka and kenai and pongo said to his nervous brother "Akane's right kenai. Well not the idiot part but still mom and dad are gonna be fine so no worries" Perdita and mataka as pongo calmed kenai took notice of Ken as well and both girl pups said in union with both energy "Hey there!" Mataka said in a calm tone "We're just being babysat until our parents come back who're you?"

Well, these pups certainly were enthusiastic. They reminded him of a dog his mother had told him about. A tiny smile traced Ken's face as he crouched down to Perdita and Mataka's level to pet them. "My name is Ken. It's... nice to meet you." he replied. So, these puppy-bear hybrids were being babysat? Ken thought that sounded fairly reasonable. So... that must have meant the girl was babysitting them. "Sorry to just barge in like this. I was reading, and you guys kind of caught my attention." Ken explained. It was rare that he was speaking so much in one conversation. Usually Ken was rather quiet when it came to conversation.

Mataka kindly took the apoligy by putting her paws together and said calmly "All is well Ken no problem. It's fine really" Perdita wagged her tail and replied less calmly but excited to meet ken "Yeah! It's fine well my names Perdita but you can call me perdy" Mataka took this and said proudly "I'm her sister mataka" Pongo stopped talking to kenai and both boys faced ken and pongo quickly said "I'm pongo nice to meet you ken!" Kenai however gave a tiny smile and said wagging his stub "I-I'm K-kenai. Hi"

"Hello to all of you." Ken said, bowing his head slightly and letting his eyes briefly be covered by his scruffy blond hair. He felt more at home among the group already. They all seemed so nice, even if Kenai was a bit nervous. He kind of reminded Ken of his father in that sense. Oh, his father wasn't as bad about nervousness as he apparently had been when he was Ken's age but it was still there. "I really hope you don't mind my joining you." he said after a moment, his gaze uneasily shifting between his book and the rest of the group. He did want to read more, but he couldn't just leave the group.
Then his gaze went to Akane. She did seem vaguely familiar. Her appearance reminded him of pictures he had seen in his mother's photo album. Maybe it was just a coincidence? He wouldn't ask about it, though. How awkward would it have been if Ken had asked that, anyway?

Akane lifted her crimson-colored eyes to Ken, a little suspiciously. He looked kind of familiar, somehow, but Akane couldn't place what seemed so familiar about the shy little boy who had approached them. "What're you looking at, squirt?" she snapped. "You got something to say, just say it."

"Oh... s-sorry." Ken said. He hadn't expected Akane to be so blunt. But, he did admittedly like that. At least she wasn't one of those overly excited girls who had to squeal over every little thing like some of the girls in his class. "I was just thinking that you kind of remind me of someone. Not someone I know directly, but... maybe a friend of my mom's?" Ken asked as he got to his feet again. Huh. He really was a bit shorter than Akane. He hadn't noticed that until just then. After a moment he shook his head just a little. Ken doubted that was even possible. It had to be a coincidence. Besides, he didn't even know this friend of his mother's. Just a coincidence.
...Wait. How did the pups know his mother's name? Were they related to the dog his mom had mentioned that she had once protected. "Maka... that's my mother's name." he said quietly. "How did you know her name?" he asked.

Pongo smiled and said enthuasticly to ken's question "Sure! Be our guest! I sure don't mind" Perdita took this opportunity to say as if she saw someone familiar "You look like maka sorta mom showed us some pictures of her and you looked like her I realized" Kenai simply hid a little behind mataka and just shook he was too nervous. Mataka while patting kenai gently said in agreement "Yeah. You really look familiar" When asked how was this possible perdita said simply "Our mom's name is Darla and darla is supposed to be maka's friend. She's your mom? Wow!"

Ken took just a moment to shift his book over to being tucked beneath his other arm, feeling slightly uncomfortable keeping it where it had been for so long. It seemed his parents must have been popular. Or, at least his mother had been. Usually he refrained from calling her by her actual name, preferring to say 'mom' and 'dad' as opposed to his parents names, but Ragnarok being around made it easier to know their names. "Maka Albarn is her name." Ken replied, a bit more loudly this time than he had before. Rangarok was right. He really did need to work on being louder in conversation. Ken wished he knew the name of his mom's friend. It would make it easier to ask about Akane's parents.

Maka? Maka... "A 'friend' of your mom, eh?" Akane replied rather sourly, crossing her arms over her chest. "Well, all I know is that my dad was never friends with her. In fact, my dad hates your mom's guts," she added with a haughty grin.

Pongo shocked and excited jumped around and said "Our mom's friend has a kid too! This is so awesome! That's really cool ken" Mataka smiled and replied "Our mom has told us about Mrs. Maka albarn. We've known that for a while" Kenai hearing Akane's comment replied "Well your dad and ken's mom perhaps had a rough patch that can be settled?"

Ken raised an eyebrow, slightly confused by the statement. That didn't make a lot of sense. He could have sworn he had seen pictures of someone that looked like Akane with his mom. But, he wouldn't press the issue. He could always ask Maka later. "I see. Sorry... I guess that was a mistake on my part." Ken said at last. It was definitely time to change the subject. At least, Ken thought it was. The conversation was turning just a bit uncomfortable.
"What were you guys doing before I got here, anyway?" Ken asked. Having always been a tad bit on the shy side, he wasn't really one for playing. After all, he was an only child. He didn't really have many options for playmates, and much preferred reading anyway.
